A flat run back from Sainsbury's meant that I was able to get a good pace and keep going. Surprised myself how I was able to keep this going but really happy. Another hour later and it would have been a lot tougher as the heat rose rapidly during the day.
The Milton Keynes 10K - the final run in the East Midlands Grand Prix 2018 series. Official time was 53:32 - strange as I started the clock after everyone had started running. Good time though and it is very close to the Silverstone time which started the series. I've completed 5 races (Silverstone, Rugby, Weedon, Harborough and Milton Keynes) so really pleased with that.
Significant milestone hit tonight. Another 10K done and on day 300 I pass 1,000 miles.
Only 65 days to go with a finish on 1st September with the local park run.
900 miles and counting.
I've also decided to up total to 1200 miles as I've still got 3 months to go!
Just need to get rid of this cold that's slowing me down now.
A great chance tonight to take part in the Rugby 6 - part of the East Midlands Grand Prix 2018. Running over local roads, and part of my local training runs certainly helped and gave me a time of 53:29 for 6 miles which I was very happy about. Great again to run with my friend Richard - I will beat you .... eventually!
I had a chance tonight to run around the iconic Silverstone circuit. We ran the bridge circuit but the course was relative flat and a fantastic surface (as you would expect) and I managed to take 8 minutes off my PB! My actual time for the 10K was 53:19 and I know what it is like to have absolutely nothing left at the end. Looking forward to next year.
In my first full month back running daily I have passed 100 miles for the month.
Felt the speed and endurance coming back, although I have to be honest - it's pretty hard at times to get out there.
Just remember why I am doing this.
