Today was a really special run for me.
Not only does it mark the halfway point of the challenge (I can now start counting down the days!) but it was also a chance for me to share this run with my father who turned 73 yesterday. It was really great to run with him (even if he did out sprint me at the end by getting the jump on me) as he has run marathons over the years and continues to be very active with long bike rides. He's my inspiration and I hope to be as fit as he is when I reach 73.
Considering where I was (25 stone and very overweight) I didn't think this day would happen, but thank God that is has.
Another milestone hit as I reached 550 miles so far.
December has been a real challenge with illness at the start and some really dodgy weather conditions (snow OK but I really don't like ice!) so I am pleased to say that I am keeping on going and nearing another 100 mile month.
And today's run (split into 3 but the time of 9:10 per mile averaged over the 5.06 miles) included a new pb for the Rugby park run of 28:08 which considering the very muddy conditions underfoot was an excellent time.
