The editor from the Rugby Observer has been speaking to me this week and Andy Morris has written an article on me which will be in next weeks paper.

Click on the image to read his article and find out why I have used this photo.

I have also confirmed my entry into the Birmingham half marathon and am waiting to hear if my entry into the Slimming World London marathon 2109 team is accepted.

After a telephone interview with a local reporter I made the local press.
Great article - thanks Alex.

The picture I wanted

So here is the picture that I wanted.

All the way through the challenge I had in my head finishing my final run alongside my dad and my brother, and at the park run I achieved it.   Dad ran with me and Derek joined in the final stretch as he wasn't feeling great (not cancer related I add).

So there you go - I ran every day for a year.

And here is the end of the run.

Thanks to Jennie for the video.

My final run

1/9/2018

So I'm about to go and get ready to do my final run as part of this challenge.
I don't know how many people read these blog notes - this has been a hard but rewarding trip this past year.
I've learnt so much about me - what I can achieve if I really go for it - but most of all each day I have carried with me the names of people who are here, and those who are not - all affected by this terrible disease.  It doesn't care who or how old - it just attacks.
People are beating it daily and the research does continue - but we can't stop trying to help others.
If by completing this I can help one person, one family then it has all been worthwhile.
I've no idea how many people are going to turn up to the park run this morning - I am aware of some but I know that I am going to find today pretty emotional and draining, but so worthwhile.
If you are reading this - thank you for being on this journey with me.

So my last Sunday morning run as part of the challenge, and I had to make sure that I ran past the QDJC in Rugby during the Rugby Syncro training session.  I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a synchro coach and learnt so much from the other coaches, but most of all from the girls that I coached - their determination and dedication has been an inspiration to me on this challenge so thank you girls - you thought I was coaching you but really you were, and continue to inspire the coaches.

Thank you.

So the countdown begins.  Today starts with 10 days to go and nearly 1,250 miles completed.  I wonder how far I can actually take this in the remaining 9 runs.

With only 18 days to go I've now passed 1,200 miles - which is way further forward than what I had initially thought I would do.

Nice to run somewhere different

The first of 5 days away in the Malverns at the Elim Limitless youth festival 2018.

It was great to run somewhere different, if the hills were somewhat tough - not so much the height but the 2 mile continual uphill gradient.  At least that was followed by a 1 mile downhill run which was fun.

Hope to get a run in every day if I can - early start so its gonna take its toll on me.

So today was supposed to be the last day, but due to illness and hospital stays I need to keep going until the 1st September.  Ran early to allow myself to enjoy the day and what a great day I had spending it with the family.
Out in the evening for a great meal with the extended family.

23 days after passing 1000 miles ...

... I pass 1,100 miles - that's 100 miles in 23 days.  That also included the final two races of the East Midlands 2018 Grand Prix series - Harborough 5 miles and Milton Keynes 10k.  Both were run in good times and I look forward to taking them on again next year.

This is my latest tracking and when I look at these numbers I realise just how far I have come - remembering in April 2017 I started the Couch to 5K - if I can do it anyone can.
